The very basics for a Pilates home practice
- Pilates Mat: Extra thick mats (5/8") with lots of cushioning for floor work-outs
- Stability Ball: Stability balls are used for dynamic and ballistic workouts where external resistance, such as dumbbells or barbells, is incorporated. They are used for core-strengthening while improving coordination and agility
- Resistance Ring: The ring is used to make some Pilates exercises easier while others, harder. The ring is padded both on the inside and outside, so agonist and antagonist muscle groups can be trained, promoting muscle balance and toning symmetry.
- Pilates Stretch Straps (Flex-bands): Flex-band straps come in different colors that signify the level of resistance or tension they provide during use in exercises. They are used as forms of resistance as you exercise your legs, back and arms during Pilates.
